Four Types Of Tours

1. Independent Tour

No group, no guide, no schedule. You get your air transportation, transfers, and vouchers for your car and hotels. You chose your hotels from a list of varying prices and you go whenever and wherever you want.

The advantage is a lower price on your air, car and hotels because they're priced as a package based on the tour company's volume purchasing power.

2. Hosted Tour

You travel independently, but a representative of the tour company is available at each destination to assit you in planning and arranging activities. You get air, transfers, vouchers for your car and hotels, and often a sightseeing tour included, plus all the extra services of a local host.

3. Escorted Tour

Here, you travel with a group and are accompanied by a professional escort who is responsible for ensuring that the tour goes smoothly. You get sightseeing, meals, transportation and accommodaitons. Rather than selecting a specific hotel, you usually chose a hotel category and the whole group stays in the same hotel.

NOTE: Escorted tours today allow time and freedom to break away from the group and explore on your own. For example, you may go on a morning tour but be free to go and dine wherever you want for the rest of the day.
